Lynchburg Bulkhead, Texas

We were asked to design a stainless steel bulkhead on a rush basis as the Lynchburg Texas pump station needed to shut off the water in the chamber so as to replace the pump. We were able to design, detail, and deliver the bulkhead in only 6 weeks from when we first heard about the project.

The bulkhead has a J-bulb rubber seal that wraps the perimeter of it and the force of the water presses against the “J” shape to seal off. It successfully held the water pressure so that vital repairs could be made to the pump which supplies a huge portion of the water to Houston, Tx.
