The purpose of these structures is to filter the water which runs out into the ocean.
We helped our customer, Kiewit Pacific, by recognizing that the original design for the truck unloading canopy had very thick steel members, which the self-tapping screws would not penetrate. We met with Hendricks Screen in Carbondale, PA, to team up with them on the job. We proposed a cleaner design, which was well received by the project’s architect.
It was easier to build and a better end result because we used aluminum intermediate columns, which are more corrosion-resistant and easier for the screws to penetrate.
