The dam in Honey Grove, Near Dallas, Texas, was being constructed to make a lake out of nothing. There is only one lake in Texas that isn’t man-made! We built the stainless steel guides that are embedded into the walls of the dam, the stainless steel trash racks and the steel stop logs.
The challenge is the J Bulb Seals, which wrap around the stop logs, keeping them straight while welding, and making them so they slide easily into the slots.
The trash screens had to use Anti-Fouling paint by Jotun to keep Zebra mussels from growing on them. We learned how to apply this paint successfully. It’s kind of “gritty” so the mussels won’t stick to it.
