LOWER NATOMAS/ NEW SOUTH RIVER PUMPING STATIONS
Completion: 2006 | Location: Natomas, CA | Type: Wastewater pumping station
Cody Delivered over $3 million worth of metals products for these pumping stations from a labyrinth of aluminum platforms and stairs to the structural iron building frames to the complex stainless steel platforms and covers in the wet wells.
Estimated completion: April 2010 | Location: Freeport, CA | Type: Intake structure
One of the things that Cody brings to the table with our decades of experience in municipal water projects is our ability to provide contractors with a complete package of all metals for the job. Unlike other fabricators who broker out these different items, Cody produces the majority of its products in its own 3 Austin facilities. Cody delivered $5 million worth of structural steel and miscellaneous metals for the Freeport Intake structure near Sacramento CA. This included over 500 tons of structural steel for the fish-shaped intake building, which was delivered ahead of schedule. Visit this project's multimedia page [click here] to view several of our products in action including the following: When this project opened, a California television station did a news story about it and their video shows many of our products. The fish shapes on top of the big pipes were cut out of stainless steel plate with a water jet cutter. This video of the ribbon cutting also shows several other products of ours including some cable railing and some “fish toppers”. The other videos also have shots of our products.

NYC DEP MANHATTAN PUMP STATION
Completion: 2013 | Location: Manhattan, NY | Type: Wastewater pumping station
Cody excels at going above and beyond the ordinary demands of a fabricator of custom metals. Creating this custom elliptical grillwork for the NYC DEP Manhattan Pump Station, Cody shop assembled the elements of structural steel, support framing, and curved grillework to ensure all the elements would properly fit together in the field. The project also involved some complex curved stainless steel railing in matching the curve of the roof. Cody provided all architectural and miscellaneous metals to Silverite Construction for this pump station. Work began for Cody in 2003 and completed in 2013.
Date Completed: June 2008 | Location: San Fransisco, CA | Type: Reservoir
Cody built $3 million worth of stainless steel structural tube braces and framing for the Sunset Reservoir North Basin Seismic Retrofit for the SFPUC. Each seismic strut brace had to be tailor made to specific locations within the reservoir and carefully coordinated with existing field conditions. The 12″ square tube braces met the rigorous seismic codes for this project. Intricate rolling aluminum hatches complete with SS tracks and steel beams were also part of Cody’s work. The rolling hatches were shop assembled in all their elements to ensure fast and easy installation in the field.
US 183 PEDESTRIAN OVERPASS ENCLOSURES
On this design build project, special care and attention had to be taken to the welding sequencing and control of heat distortion due to the thousands of welds required on the enclosures. Cody also devised a means of attaching the curved "waves" to the sides of the enclosures so the different coating systems could be achieved.
